Boot Covers

Keeping universal joints fully lubricated reduces friction, wear and heat generation and can significantly prolong the useful life of the assembly. If pre-lubrication, such as in needle-bearing joints, or continuous lubrication with oil drips for example is not attainable, the joints can be fitted with lubricant-retaining boots (bellows).

In addition to maintaining component lubrication, boots can prevent contaminants entering and damaging the joints in environments polluted with chips, dirt, acids and/or other abrasives.

Pin & Block Type Needle Bearing

Belden's unique 'hybrid' pin & block type needle-bearing design combines the higher torque capacity of friction-bearing (pin & block) joints with the needle-bearing’s ability to continuously operate at higher speeds with less wear, and lower backlash. It is better suited for high side-loads and operating angles than the cross & bearing style joints.

Features:

Cross-Type Needle-Bearing Universal Joints (Stainless Steel)

Cross-Type Needle-Bearing Stainless Steel Joints are high-precision universal Joints for corrosive or sanitary environments. They maintain minimal backlash over extended periods of time. They are built with roller bearings to reduce friction and deliver superior lifetime at continuous applications and high RPM.

Features:

Cross-Type Needle-Bearing Universal Joints (Alloy Steel)

Cross-Type Needle-Bearing Alloy Joints are high-precision universal Joints that maintain minimal backlash over extended periods of time. They deliver superior lifetime at continuous applications and high RPM. Needle bearing joints are built with roller bearings to reduce friction.

Features:

Military Standard Heavy Duty Universal Joints

Belden's Heavy-Duty Military Standard Joints are designed with blind bores and grease-filled protective boot covers. They are developed according to MIL-DTL-6193 & MS20271specifications for dimensions, strength and other performance features. Mil-Spec joints are constructed with friction (plain) bearing design, with the exposed components protected by Cadmium plating.

Features:

Military Standard Light Duty Universal Joints

Belden's Light-Duty Military-Standard joints are designed with blind bores, without boot covers. They are developed according to MIL-DTL-6193 & MS20270 specifications for dimensions, strength and other performance features. Mil-Spec joints are constructed with friction (plain) bearing design, with the exposed components (except rivets) protected by Cadmium plating.

Features:

Stainless-Steel Double Universal Joints

Belden’s stainless double universal joints provide the same reliability and service life as the single universal joints, with a maximum combined working angle of 90°. Double universal joints provide accurate positioning and flexibility under higher operating angles. The joint yokes are 303 and the pins & blocks are hardened 416 stainless steel to provide higher strength and improved wear resistance. Components can be made from other grades of stainless steel. For additional environmental protection, pins & blocks can be covered by lubricant retaining boots.

Stainless Steel Single Universal Joints

Belden's stainless single universal joints are requested for special applications with high strength requirements and harsh, corrosive or sterile environments. They are built using friction (plain) bearing design.

Features:

High Strength Single Universal Joints

Belden's High Strength single universal Joints are recommended for high-torque applications (e.g. drilling, tapping, packaging, test cells and others.) It is constructed with friction-bearing (i.e. plain-bearing) design. It is a stronger joint than the Heavy-Duty joint.

Features:

Heavy Duty Single Universal Joints

High-Quality Precision Single Universal Joints, delivering minimal play for a variety of standard applications. They feature friction (plain) bearing design, constructed with pins and blocks.
